Mai Waku is runs her own business, specializing in counseling. Mai’s methods to help her clients are far from normal, as are the problems she is presented with. Mai’s solutions usually have her in her underwear, or completely nude.

The DVD extras include Sneak Peaks of other anime titles; Meet the Characters, Original Credit roll, and Gallery and DVD ROM access to their websites. Meet the Characters brings you to an info screen for all the main characters. You will get some personal info on the character read aloud by the voice actor. Original Credit roll is footage of the original showing of My My Mai with cast credits displayed over the picture. The gallery offers still photos of Mai and other characters. DVD ROM connects you to their website.

The video quality is that of a VCR tape imported to a DVD. Even though the quality is not quite up to today’s standards, it does not interfere with the story in the least. The animation quality is as expected too. Character designs were in some variety

Sound: 8

The music in the background did set the moods properly, accordingly to their scenes. Background sounds keep true, sound like they should and stay in the background. The English voices were fine for the most part. A couple characters sounded a little too emotionless for their roles. The Japanese voices were more enthusiastic sounding and fit the characters a little better. Overall, I can’t let a couple voices keep me from enjoying the show and I do prefer the English track more.

Subtitles: 8

The subtitles are a thin yellow with a black border and are easy to read. The dialogue is fairly similar changed slightly, of course, to fit the lip movements of the characters.

There is quite a bit of nudity, but nothing malicious. Nothing much actually happens beyond the nudity, aside the story that is. I found My My Mai pretty comical and a bit kooky.
